1In the hands of a skilled surgeon/ laser operator laser eye surgery is a fairly straightforward and simple procedure to correct visual problems. However it is not without its own risks and side effects and the longer term issues are not yet known as the treatment has only been about for the past 20 years or so--generally people do not tend to report too many problems in the short term but who knows what will happen in 30 years for example when the eye ages? Common side effects include glare, blurring of vision, return of short-sightedness, damage to the cornea or eyelid and the most common dry eyes- many have to use a lubricant constantly after having this treatment but feel its a small price to pay for the releif from wearing lenses or glasses. Make sure you consult a senior ophthalmologist before going ahead with this type of surgery! good luck
